Taking time to think

I haven't had much time in the studio recently. Taking some time there this afternoon I spent a long time cleaning and tidying. It always makes me feel guilty 'wasting' time like this, but later I felt I got a breakthrough. It seems I need to do mundane tasks, 'setting my stall out' before my mind can settle.

I finally feel like I am getting somewhere with my work for Pinpoint II.

In search of the perfect stick

It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good, so the saying goes. The last few days have been exceptionally windy here in Yorkshire, which has provided me with lots of windfall branches and the ideal opportunity to search for the perfect stick...

I found this beautiful 'etched' branch on the pavement this afternoon. It reminds me of scrimshaw work.
