I had my final MA assessment today and I now feel I can take a breath. There are things that could be improved in the work but over all I am happy with how it has developed. In particular I feel the embroidered piece with bundles placed on it is much more resolved in terms of combining the making process with a sense of place and time. Anyhow, enough reflective practice here are the photos!
Congratulations Hannah. Your work looks interesting and wonderful, it has a sense of calm despite all the obstacles you have had to over come. I love the hanging pieces, the texture repetition looks a little like reptile skin. Your bundles are intriguing, and I love your embroidery on your large fabric piece. It is so nice to have been able to follow your journey.
ReplyDeleteWonder-filled! The long panels make me think of ancient wisps of backbone from some magical creature...and those bundles - I want to see inside! Will they stay wrapped?
ReplyDeleteAll very beautiful. I love the richness of color. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYour work looks fantastic, I'm looking forward to seeing the show. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteExcelentes tonos y texturas.

ReplyDeleteLove looking at your site and seeing your work develop. I am pesently reading a book called "Lines A Brief History" by the anthropologist Tim Ingold. I think it would be useful to you in this work and give ou more self belief and historical background. Hope it might be useful and keep going
