Colours from the moors

While walking on the moors near Robin Hood's Bay I made some fabric bundles using collected plant material such as bilberries, dried bracken and heather. I wasn't sure I would get much in the way of marks but I was pleased to find some beautiful subtle colours on the silk habotai.

  1. Lovely experiments. Which of the materials that you used produced the lovely pinky purple at the bottom, was it the bilberries?

  2. Yes, the bilberries do seem to make a very pretty pink/purple. In the photo the sample has not been rinsed so you can still see the remains of the berries.
